A Reminder that You are Loved
This past week I was feeling a bit down about myself and started to seek validation for though others. But (by God's grace) that attempt failed. I felt inferior and couldn't find anyone to make me feel otherwise. So I had two choices, I could wallow in self-pity and live by my emotions or I could validate myself. I chose to put my feelings aside and recall God's word. I spoke out truth and begin to love on myself.
We all need to do that at times - love on our ourselves. Not becuase of what we've done but because of whose we are.
At the end of the day, our validation has to come from within. What others tell us should reassure us, not redefine us.
So I want to be that voice of re-assurance as you embark on your week. In a world that is constantly telling you who to be and why you should change I want you to remember that you are enough. You are loved just as your are.
Your mistakes and failures don't define you (though they try to). God can redeem all things and work them together for your good according to his purpose (Romans 8:28).
Your relationship status and insecurities don't add or subtract to your worth. You're not perfect - no one is. Don't settle for relationships and friendships with people who cannot see your God given value. Make up in your mind that you won't work to convince anyone that you're worth their time. The right people will see it and appreciate you.
Stand out. Be yourself and learn to love yourself. Embrace your unique interests, out of the box thinking, and idiosyncrasies. God did not intend for you to hide who you are out of shame or fear of other's judgement. But we do.
Let your goal be to live for an audience of one - Jesus. Who loves you and accepts you as you are, and has a purpose for your life. He died for you at your worst (Romans 5:8). His love is unchanging regardless of how terrible or excellent your life is going. Even when you feel as if you have nothing, you have Him. In Him is everything you need.
You are fearfully and wonderfully made. You are God's chosen vessel. You are beautiful, purpose filled, and infinitely valued. Forgiven. Redeemed.
You are Loved.
If you're struggling to believe that I encourage you to spend time in God's presence. Whenever I remember and begin to feel the magnitude of God's love for me, my insecurities, doubts, and fears subside. Nothing we feel is greater than His love.
