Why Does God Make Us Wait?

Why does God make us wait? What the point? Well I can tell you that it’s for your good and His glory. It’s not always a good thing that happens but that doesn’t change God’s ability to make a miracle out of a mess.

Often we think that If God doesn’t answer our prayer right when we ask then he won’t answer it at all - or that he’s abandoned us. But that’s not true. I recently heard a pastor say, “In the wait something is happening inside of you that is more important than the manifestation of your miracle.”

Waiting produces things in you that instant gratification never will. Waiting is where the roots of your faith grow deep. Waiting is where faithfulness, perseverance, and patience are developed. In the wait you find out if you fully trust God or if you’re still tempted to turn back and worship those idols He delivered from.

God is faithful. He was faithful 2000 years ago to Mary and Martha and he’s faithful today. He’s still the resurrection, brining deaf things to life. There is no expiration date on his power and sovereignty. Trust him. Go to him. Worship him. Tell him what’s on your heart and then be still and know that He is God.
