Don't Believe That You're Not Good Enough

We can't effectively live out our purpose unless we embrace who God made us to be.

Don't believe the lie. You know the one echoing inside your head, taunting you and whispering, "You're not good enough or smart enough". It says, " Because of your past you're not lovable". It encourages you to compare yourself to others so that you will think you're not beautiful, should be further along in life, and will always be alone.

Insecurities - we all have them. They are birthed out of a feelings of inferiority.  For one reason or another we've bought a lie that some aspect of our self isn't good enough, causing us to think less of ourselves.

At times I'm very insecure about my shyness. I'm a bubbly, silly, always laughing way-too-much kind of girl, but that's not a side of my personality many people see. It takes me a while to warm up to people. Though I'm always friendly when I meet people I tend to be very reserved.

I use to feel like I needed to be more captivating, you know talkative and outgoing. I would coach myself on how to act and try to force a false persona, but (of course) it felt so unnatural. In the end I'd grow more frustrated with myself for not being able to keep up the act.

It's not that I wanted attention, because I didn't. What I really desired was validation. I wanted other people to find me interesting and valuable, and I didn't believe I could get that validation any other way.

Like me, you may have something you wish to change about yourself.  It's not a bad to thing to want to change or improve, growth is good.  However, your confidence shouldn't be rooted in something as changeable as a habit or characteristic.

Your love for yourself has to be tied to something greater.  Something unchanging and good.

I've heard it said that only the creator of an object can assign it's worth , and I completely agree.

When insecurities arise we need to remember that we are not what we think we are or who other's say we are. We are the handiwork of God, His masterpiece

We shouldn't force ourselves to be something that we are not. We are who we are for a reason. Our purpose is tied to our uniqueness, and if we try to hide what makes us different or change out of desire to fit in, we'll lose our advantage.

There is no need to prove your worth. I don't believe we need to convince others that we are worth their acceptance, love, or attention because you only work to prove something when you doubt its validity.

I'll be the first to raise my hand and admit I struggled with this for a long time, but not anymore. Though the lies still attack my thoughts I know that my worth does not decrease based on someone else's inability to see it.

I'm a work in progress. And so are you. Let us accept ourselves as we are right now while we journey to grow.  God loved you at your worst and considered your life worth His own.

Don't believe the lie - You are loved, you are enough, and you can make a powerful impact in this world just as you are.

All My Love,

Tiffanie
