You Will Get Through This

Seasons - our life is marked by them. If there’s one thing I’ve learned it’s that seasons change. Some are long, some are short, some are exciting, and others, you can’t wait until they are over. But one thing is sure – there are never forever.

A Time for Everything - There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens: - Ecclesiastes 3:1

Right now, I’m in a season beginnings. I’m growing my blog and starting a business all while working a full time 9-5.  On weekdays I wake up around 6:30am, go to work, come home, work so more, and go to sleep around 1 am just to do it all again the next. I don’t get to hang out with my friends as much as I’d like and tired is my new norm.

I would love to quit my day job and pursue my dream full time but financially I can’t (yet). For now, this is my life. This is what I have to do to make my dream a reality. On the days when it’s hard to push myself I have to take a step back and remember that my life won’t look like this forever.

Just because I can’t see the light at the end of the tunnel doesn’t mean it’s not there. If you’re in a difficult season I want you to remember one thing - it will pass.  The secret to enduring is not focusing on your current condition but on why you’re doing it.

I know God has called me to start a business and a blog, not for my own agenda but for His. It's not easy, and it was never promised to be. It is, however, worth it. Our purpose is bigger than us. We were made to manifest the glory of God and every thing we are called to do fulfills that purpose.

We must remember that the current season is preparing us for the next. We have this time to grow as a person and in our faith.  Regardless of what your now looks like - dealing with a child in their terrible two's, the loneliness of being single, a rough patch in your marriage, working a job you don't love (or even like).  Remember why you're doing this. Keep the end goal in mind; keep running the race Jesus has marked out for you.

Just think of how far you've already come. The things you've done that were daunting when you started them. Remember how Jesus brought you through that season. He'll do it again. His faithfulness is unchanging.

So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.  - 2 Corinthians 4:18
