Do You Want To Be Married? Three Things You Should Be Practicing While You're Single

“How can you be faithful to an imperfect person if you can’t be faithful to me, who is perfect?” God challenged me with this question a few years ago. I was going on and on about wanting to date and get married and BOOM…He dropped the mic with that question. We often underestimate the importance of our single season. God didn’t create us to solely be husbands or wives,

The Key to Enjoying Your Single Life

I know how difficult it can be to navigate life in a society that glorifies dating and relationships and minimizes singleness. It’s taken me years to become content with my single status. I use to endure it, but now I enjoy it - and that’s only by the grace of God. If you’re struggling to enjoy being single, I want to help you. Here’s the secret that set me free: If you want to REALLY enjoy your single life, then you have to

A Father to the Fatherless - For Those Struggling on Father’s Day

This post goes out to anyone who finds father’s day hard to endure.  Whether you never knew your father, he abandoned you, you have a rocky relationship, or he’s passed away - know that this day doesn’t have to be painful.

My dad passed away unexpectedly when I was in high school.  It was one of the most traumatic experiences of my life and though I was blessed with a great father, I know the void that comes with not having one in your life.‬

Singleness - How I’ve Learned to Enjoy it Instead of Endure It

Singleness is NOT something to be endured. But I know it feels like it sometimes. If you’re single, I’m right here with you. I haven’t been in a relationship in 6 years. I’ve gone on dates here and there, wasted time on some foolishness, but I’m still waiting to meet God’s best for me. I was talking with a friend the other day at small group. We were discussing how our week was going and sharing our prayer requests. She began telling me that she needed prayer for discipline

When Things Fall Apart, God can Piece Them Back Together

They say hindsight is 20/20 and the older I get the more I find that to be true. I look back at my life, decisions and circumstances, and I'm amazed at how far God has brought me. A year ago my life looked drastically different in a number of ways. For one thing, I was head over heels in love with a guy I couldn't imagine my life without.

I prayed for things to work out between us, but they continued to fall apart. As I look back on those earnest prayers to God to save the relationship I'm a so grateful the answer was no.

Why I’m Grateful to be Single

I don’t know about you but it seems like everyone around me is getting married. That's probably an exaggeration, but it definitely feels that way. With every scroll through my Facebook feed and invitation in the mail, I can’t help but wonder when it will be my turn.

Here’s a little background information on my love life. Prior to becoming a Christian, I was the girl who always had a boyfriend. Looking back, it’s not something I’m proud of, but it’s the truth. I liked having someone around to fill the void of loneliness.
